Cherry Hill Public Library

Event Details

Join us for a new series: The Opera Roundtable

 This month we will discuss:

George Bizet’s CARMEN

CARMEN is the world’s number two favorite opera. Join us to find out why this French opera with a Spanish flair is so popular.

Is it the music, or the story, or the character of CARMEN herself?

Maybe it’s all three!

HOW TO JOIN:

1.    Register here through the library’s events calendar page. A Zoom link for the event will be emailed to you closer to the event date.

2.    Online registration will close 2 days prior to each meeting.

3.    Too late? No such thing! If registration has closed, email facilitator Bill Holt directly at wlh7@comcast.net to receive the Zoom link.

How does this group operate?

Bill Holt facilitates a discussion, with video clips of the opera.

It’s OPEN TO ALL AND FREE! The discussion group consists of both those newly interested in opera and the more experienced, who love to share their experiences and insights.  Bill prepares extensive background material and video clips of trailers and past performances by the great names who have sung this work.
