Carol Highsmith has traveled the country photographing the landscape, people, buildings and culture of cities and states across the United States since 1992. Often with her husband Ted behind the wheel, Carol spends 8 to 9 months a year on the road exploring and documenting the unique elements that create our America. From well-known and historically famous locations to photogenic local places, Highsmith is diligently working to visually document architectural and natural landmarks, including those within Cherry Hill Township, for future generations.
Join us to welcome “America’s Photographer” for Behind the Lens with Carol Highsmith, where you can view her Cherry Hill photographs as well as several others from across the country. As part of this special evening, Highsmith will share her experiences depicting 21st‐century American life for the Library of Congress and discuss her work to capture Cherry Hill’s iconic landscapes and landmarks.
The exhibit will be on display in the Library's Art Gallery through Dec. 31,
2015. To view more of Carol’s images, visit: www.CarolHighsmithAmerica.com or the Library of Congress at www.loc.gov/pictures/collection/highsm/.
