CONTEST DETAILS

• There are two entry categories:
  • 14 years old and younger
  • 15 years old and older
• Designer must be a current Cherry Hill resident.
• The design must highlight the Cherry Hill Public Library as the Heart of the Community and include the library name.
• Images will be evaluated based on originality, simplicity, creativity and overall public image conveyed. 
• All designs must be original (submissions using copyrighted photos, images or slogans will be disqualified).
• The design can be no larger than 11.5 inches by 14 inches with a maximum file size of 10MB.
• Accepted file types: .AI, .EPS, .PDF, .PNG or .JPG.
• The design can only have the following four colors: red, purple, white, and black.

Winners will have their design printed on t-shirts to be purchased by the community.

Winners will also receive a $25 gift card, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

It's National Library Week and we are in a very forgiving mood! Donate non-perishable food items and we will forgive your fines. (not included in fine forgiveness: lost materials, DVD rental/renewal, and interlibrary loan fees).

Bring your food donation to the Circulation Desk. For each food item you will get a fine forgiven.

Food donations will be delivered to the Food Pantry at Jewish Family & Children's Services. Items needed include:

• Cold and hot cereal, granola bars, cereal bars, oatmeal
• Canned fruit
• Canned vegetables
• Instant mashed potatoes
• Soups
• Jars of prepared tomato sauce
• Pasta, noodles, spaghetti, macaroni
• Canned fish: tuna, salmon, gelfite fish
• Bottles of kosher grape juice
• Juice packs, apple and tomato juice, evaporated milk, coffee, tea
• Desserts: cookies, crackers, puddings, apple sauce
• Snacks: pretzels, nuts, Fruit Roll-ups
• Peanut butter
• Jelly
• Boxed macaroni and cheese

Support local pets in need! CHPL is collecting pet supplies for cats and dogs throughout the month of July. All supplies will be donated to the Voorhees Animal Orphanage (VAO). Please drop off only new or gently used items. No open bags of food or treats will be accepted. See below for the VAO wish list:

Help fight period and hygiene poverty by dropping off your donations in the lobby for Her Drive.. Items should be dropped off during open hours - please check our calendar before visiting. All donated items must be new (other than gently used bras). All items must be new and unopened.

Support the Jewish Family & Children's Services Personal Care Pantry in October. JFCS is looking for new/unopened items including:

November is Food Drive Month! Support Cherry Hill Township and the Cherry Hill PBA 176 and help your neighbors by donating non-perishable food. Items will be distributed by the Cherry Hill food Pantry and the JFCS Food Pantry.

The Cherry Hill Public Library is proud to be a donation site for the Stray Cat Relief Fund from January 2 - 31. Please check our winter hours when visiting our Library and scheduling a drop off of items. 

Items needed for cat supply donations include:
cat and kitten food (wet and dry)
clumping cat litter
litter trays

Donations will go directly to the Stray Cat Relief Fund. They are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that provides homes and care to the stray cats of New Jersey and Philadelphia. Your donations help offset the cost of caring for abandoned and neglected cats as they are prepared for a new chance to enter a loving home. Learn more online: www.straycatrelieffund.org

The Cherry Hill East Little Mentors group is in need of supplies for children in need. Please drop off donations in the lobby of the library during business hours. 

Items needed  include:

• pens and pencils
• markers and crayons
• dry erase markers
• notebooks/loose leaf paper
• folders
• backpacks

The Little Mentors empower one friend at a time and aim to put smiles on children's faces. The supplies will be going to children under the poverty line (through the Ronald McDonald House), refugee children in Syria, and orphaned children in India. 

The Cherry Hill Public Library is proud to be a Donation site for Distributing Dignity's March PADNESS event.  Distributing Dignity's mission is to distribute new bras, tampons, and pads - enhancing the dignity of women in need.

New, unopened packages of pads and tampons and new bras should be dropped off in the Distributing Dignity box in the library lobby. Support Women's History Month by supporting local women in need.

In this beginner grammar and writing section, examples will be sent to students before each class. During class, after going over the examples with the teacher, students will be given multiple opportunities to practice writing using the grammar.

This book club is for students who want to improve their oral and reading comprehension skills. Each week students will read at home a few chapter of the chosen book. Then students will meet online with other students and the teacher.  Students will read aloud and the story will be discussed for comprehension. The teacher supports the students by sending out vocabulary lists the week before. Contact Elby for participation.

This class is for people who plan to take the United States citizenship test. The goal of the class is to have all the students in the class become citizens of the United States. There are weekly one-hour sessions for 5-6 weeks.

 To prepare for the test the two instructors will help students 1) understand the questions on the application to take the test;  2) study the questions about history, government, geography and national traditions that may be asked during the test;  3) practice the reading and writing sections of the test;  4) review conversational skills necessary to pass the test. The class is designed for active participation by the students and there is time each week to answer questions the students may have.

Join us as professional strength & conditioning coach, Mo Orlando teaches you simple breath mechanics for relaxation, meditation, and recovery. Come dressed to move as we perform mobility exercises as well as go though the most common exercises that are performed incorrectly causing pain and stress.  

The Friends of the Cherry Hill Public Library is an organization of individuals, families, and businesses that support the library through membership, volunteerism, and donations. Members promote awareness of the wide variety of services offered by the library and provide financial support through membership dues, book sales, and other fundraisers.

This class is for students who have some prior knowledge of English. Students will read about interesting topics and learn new vocabulary words.

To test their knowledge, students will answer comprehension questions and discuss the weekly topic as well as have time to practice using the new vocabulary words.   Register

Enjoy this program designed just for 2 year olds! Develop language and pre-literacy skills with stories, songs, rhymes, and movement. Registration required.

This class will provides students with the opportunity to practice speaking English in a social setting along with other English language learners. Topics are suggested by both students and teacher, either one-on-one or in a larger group. The teacher will be present to help with vocabulary, pronunciation, or phrasing, as needed. The main goal is to feel comfortable and have fun speaking in English while getting to know other people who are also learning English.  Register
