VIRTUAL! Feminist Book Club: Gender and Our Brains

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM
Cherry Hill Public Library

Event Details

We have hosted successful book clubs on our Zoom meeting platform and will do the same for Feminist Book Club.

This book is pretty dense science nonfiction, so if you are having trouble reading during Covid pandemic, no problem- join us anyway! We will try to talk about the Gender neuroscience in general so everyone can contribute.

We will share the Zoom login with attendees before the event.

After several votes- we chose
Gender and Our Brains: HOW NEW NEUROSCIENCE EXPLODES THE MYTHS OF THE MALE AND FEMALE MINDS

(UK version was called:
The Gendered Brain : The new neuroscience that shatters the myth of the female brain by Gina Rippon)

But what does this constant gendering mean for our thoughts, decisions and behaviour? And what does it mean for our brains?Drawing on her work as a professor of cognitive neuroimaging, Gina Rippon unpacks the stereotypes that bombard us from our earliest moments and shows how these messages mould our ideas of ourselves and even shape our brains.
