Join us for an evening with Tom McAllister, author of the new novel How to Be Safe – the powerhouse tale of one woman’s furious grappling with the repercussions of a small town school shooting.

This timely novel has already been met with widespread critical acclaim from publications such as The Washington Post, The New York Times, The New Yorker, and many more. Mr. McAllister is also the author of the novel The Young Widower’s Handbook and his memoir, Bury Me in My Jersey. A graduate of the Iowa Writer’s Workshop and a Philadelphia native, McAllister is now an Associate Professor at Temple University and nonfiction editor at the small press and literary magazine Barrelhouse.
