7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Cherry Hill Public Library
Conference Center, Lower Level

Event Details

Lecturer and living history re-enactor Kate Butler reprises the role of Typhoid Mary in a thrilling one-woman performance.

Mary Mallon, AKA Typhoid Mary, an Irish immigrant who cooked for many of New York City’s wealthier families, was blamed for infecting 51 people with typhoid, three of whom died. After she refused to stop working, she was confined to live in isolation on an island on New York's East River for close to three decades. Did she deserve this fate? Come to this event and decide for yourself.

This event is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
