Join us for a screening of the film Pawn Sacrifice followed by a discussion led by Chess Master Dr. Leroy Dubeck, past president of the US Chess Federation.

Dr. Dubeck was instrumental in getting Bobby Fischer to play his match for the 1972 World Chess Championship against Boris Spassky and can share insight about the accuracy of the film and what details Hollywood left out.

About the Film: American chess legend Bobby Fischer (Tobey Maguire) and Soviet Grandmaster Boris Spassky (Liev Schreiber) enthrall the world with their intense battle of wills and strategy during the 1972 World Chess Championship. About the Presenter: Dr. Leroy Dubeck is a chess master and retired Professor of Physics from Temple University. He was president of the US Chess Federation from 1969-1972. Dubeck also writes science fiction.
