Event Details

Did Lizzie Borden really take an ax and give her mother 40 whacks?

Lizzie Borden was accused and acquitted in the brutal ax murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River, Massachusetts in 1892. No one else was ever charged in the murders and speculation about the crimes continues to linger. Lecturer and living history reenactor Kate Butler reprises the role of Lizzie Borden in a performance with little known facts of the case as well as insight into Lizzie’s psychological state. Was Lizzie innocent of these crimes more than a century ago? Attend this program and decide for yourself.
